We are Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes

A Charity supporting the NHS, run by unpaid volunteers

Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes - It's What We Do

Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes was formed in 2013 and is a volunteer-run charity that provides a free, out-of-hours emergency transport service for the NHS. Our team of unpaid volunteers deliver vital medical items such as blood, heel pricks, platelets, plasma, samples, and medical records between hospitals and blood transfusion banks primarily across Nottinghamshire.

We are entirely funded by donations from the public and local businesses. We help to reduce the NHS’s running costs while ensuring critical supplies reach where they’re needed most, when they’re needed most. Our mission is simple: to save money, save resources, and ultimately, help save lives.

It’s not just about motorbikes, we also rely on controllers, drivers, fundraisers, and people with all kinds of skills to keep the wheels turning.
